Outside the Temple of Heaven, which we didn't go into, there's a nice public park (admission less than a dollar). Inside, many people do Tai Ji, sword practice, ballroom dancing, flying kites, playing badminton, and practicing on musical instruments and singing. Earlier we mentioned that Beijing is a lot like Los Angeles. Here is an example from one of the highways. There are six "ring roads" around Beijing (what we call "loops" in Texas). They are all many-lane monsters. One difference between Beijing and L.A. is that Beijing traffic was never that bad.
